SHA is dedicated to partnering with colleges and universities around the country to provide meaningful experiences to up and coming public health professionals. Empowering the next generation of public health and policy professionals is at the heart of our University and College Internship Partnerships. We collaborate with universities and colleges to create structured, impactful internship opportunities that immerse students in real-world experiences, expand their skills, and deepen their understanding of public health, policy, and emergency preparedness.

Our consulting firm works closely with academic institutions to design internships that are tailored to their curriculum, address current public health challenges, and provide students with hands-on learning experiences. We provide opportunities to students through Internships and Applied Practice Experiences (APEs) to satisfy requirements of Baccalaureate, Masters, and Doctoral Degrees. From program design and mentor matching to progress tracking and evaluation, we ensure each internship offers practical exposure to relevant public health issues, contributing to students’ professional and academic growth.

Interning for SHA presented an incredible opportunity for me to gain public health experience while contributing to my professional growth at the same time. My favorite part of my internship was conducting a built environment assessment for the Clifton Health Department, which allowed me to use my creativity in creating the presentation. What started as an internship quickly evolved into a role of greater responsibility, and I transitioned from intern to consultant.
