Interning for SHA presented an incredible opportunity for me to gain public health experience while contributing to my professional growth at the same time. My favorite part of my internship was conducting a built environment assessment for the Clifton Health Department, which allowed me to use my creativity in creating the presentation. What started as an internship quickly evolved into a role of greater responsibility, and I transitioned from intern to consultant. The biggest influence on my professional development came directly from the mentorship I received from Lisa, Michael, and Trevor. The experience I gained during my internship and consultancy most certainly set the foundation for my current and future roles, which I am incredibly grateful for.
